So my daughter watches these shows on repeat if I let her (which I am doing over Easter while I work) e
I was saying to myself 'this is not good, these shows are vacuous crap' which they are.
However, I then thought wait a minute, I really dislike the prevalence of CGI, I think it lacks artistic flair and is a sausage factory of samey content.
I grew up in the 80s so it was all Magic Roundabout, Rainbow, and Button Moon - which I think are great because it's different types of animation, human interaction that isn't patronising speed speaking that children's TV presenters do these days.
Then I thought this stuff is actually more akin to what I had as a small child than what CBBies would offer or other stuff that kids watch like Cocomelon.
So if I did attract the more cautious of us around tablets, what are your thoughts? I'm thinking hours of this type of content is not so bad after all. In fact, she's now asked for the dolls from the show to play with. She sets up her own dioramas and mimics the set ups and conversations in the show.
I just found it interesting as I was working and clearing the garden today.
