AIBU Ring doorbell battery lasts a week

Hi everyone, after a recent scare got a ring 4 doorbell and generally pleased with it, but the battery only lasts a week?

I've set up the zone to just be my path (busy road so without this was getting 50+ notifications a day). I now get 8-10 and have set it to frequent check for motion, but that means the battery doesn't last longer than a week.

Can't hardwire it just yet and have bought a second battery so always have one charged, but AIBU to expect the battery to last longer than a week?

You might be better off getting a camera (possibly one that just records everything) and using the ring doorbell just as the doorbell/visitors alarm. Are you trying to record antisocial behaviour by your neighbour with it?

Apologies, just realised I referred to lithium batteries for my Blink cameras instead of Ring which is my bf’s one! Sorry!

Id still get onto then though and ask what’s going wrong and why it’s ploughing through the power so quickly.

Not necessarily antisocial... I just don't trust them after previous tomfoolery (as detailed in previous thread!) and just am happier being able to keep an eye out.

Also after said neighbour sent a delivery to my house post midnight and had some unknown man hammering at the door, love being able to look out using ring!

Maybe a proper camera is the way to go!
