to think that if you look for a file you can't find it's quicker to start again?

Arrgh! Is this just me or do other people experience this document hell....

You know when you are asked to do something - like draft a document - like a letter or something - and you know you have done one that is almost exacly the same as the one you need to do.

So you look for it in your files. Can't find it. Can't remember the name of it. Yet are so sure it will save you time you keep looking. Still can't find it. Keep looking.

Time it takes you to find it - if you ever do - would have been better spent just starting again. I hate this.

I have a useful info file that I put stuff like that in, both in outlook and on PC. I give them really clear names

Yes the problem isn't so much file management for me as remembering exactly what I'm looking for.

It's more like I remember that I did exactly thing on widgets this for that client about 3 years ago... what was their name... can't remember... I'll search for widgets... no that's not working.... maybe it will be in this group of files.... I think I remember using the phrase "Widgets for women" I'll search for that... no that's not working...
