To think anyone who is involved in or supports blood sports is a complete bellend

I have just seen this report on Channel 4 news, anyone else seen it?

These psychopaths buried a poor vixen alive! Beyond disgusting.

Disclaimer - I’m not saying animal rights are more important than human rights - I think we have a duty to look after and care for people first and foremost - but I’m just so sick of seeing humans treating animals so horribly and as if they too don’t feel pain, fear, emotions etc. (just pre-empting all the whataboutery).

We don‘t have the right to kill innocent animals for the hell of it and for our own weird gratification, and no, hunting doesn’t control their numbers - that argument is complete bollocks as it’s completely inefficient and wasteful way to go about managing species overpopulation.

What is wrong with these people?

This is a regular occurrence with the hunts. The problem is that many of the rural police, MPs and magistrates are part of these circles and it's one rule for them....

LammasEve · 29/03/2023 20:54

Bellend is far too good a word for them, anyone involved in any form of bloodsport is a total cunt.

What is wrong with these people is they are vile, cruel, violent psychopaths.

Theimpossiblegirl · 29/03/2023 20:56

They're not cunts. Cunts have warmth. They are cold hearted killers.

Snooks1971 · 29/03/2023 20:56

That’s disgusting. Bastards.

ExIndieCindy · 29/03/2023 20:58

@LammasEve yeah exactly. I would have used stronger language, just didn’t want to get censored (if MN do that)….

Here's what I don't understand.

You can lead a perfectly happy life without killing foxes - so why do they do it? I mean, they could choose not to do it and still have perfectly happy lives.

RosesInWater · 29/03/2023 21:00

I think our esteemed Royal Family like a shoot or two. Who's going to stop them? Wrong signals folks. But I am not sure if they do hunts. Either way....

It is abhorrent, and what's worse is the enjoyment they get from partaking in it. Ugh.

This. They are utter psychopaths and scum of the earth. I hope they get their comeuppance once day.

It’s absolutely awful. But it’s a strange thing in life that people get very upset about fox hunts, other hunting like deer shoots etc; but rarely are disgusted enough with mass farming methods to do anything about it.

Is the way a fox lives then dies worse than the way that battery chickens are reared then killed? I’m not sure.

No, it's not worse, but chickens get killed for food, and foxes get killed because these sick bastards feel joy in targeting a helpless animal and torturing it to death.

Not saying either is right, but the former has a purpose for the killing, the latter doesn't.

Wednesdaysotherchild · 29/03/2023 21:06

Death is too good for these people - vile wicked psychopaths.

I suggest if you feel the same that you consider funding and supporting your hunts sabs group and donate or support them. They are heroes - I can’t do iit myself due to my particular health issues and professional obligations but I do donate and am glad those people are out there monitoring, filming and bringing these violent psychopaths to justice. This kind of flagrant cruelty and animal torture should not be allowed in a civilised society (and whilst technically illegally, it isn’t enforced)!

verdantverdure · 29/03/2023 21:08

Hunting is evil

Are the deer killed for food too? I have to admit, I don't know.
I have known people who shoot rabbit, pheasant and deer, and they do it for food. Is probably more humane than farming. At least the animals have led a full life in the wild, and then it is lights out.
Fox hunting is not for food, and I don't buy it about being controlling numbers. Otherwise, why all all the pomp and ceremony surrounding it? My grandad used to shoot foxes to protect his birds. No fucking about with dressing up and chasing them across countryside, ripping up people's pets in the process too.

onlyconnect · 29/03/2023 21:11

I agree with ShirleyPhallus
It is awful, yes but so many of the things we do to animals are as bad or worse but they're hidden from us.
I consider meat eating to be a luxury therefore not remotely justified because it's food.
Someone tucking into a KFC moaning about fox hunting is just a hypocrite.
I don't support blood sports at all but also find it blinkered that they're singled out when so many more animals suffer horribly so we can have cheap meat.

ExIndieCindy · 29/03/2023 21:13

@ShirleyPhallus I 100% agree with you. Particularly on the eggs and chickens front. I think the problem is the food lobby is so powerful that it lies to consumers so if someone sees ‘Free Range‘ on the packaging they assume it’s ethical (when it’s not). All smoke and mirrors.

Im currently 22 weeks pregnant with my first and I’ve been craving eggs since the morning sickness went. Haven’t eaten them or any diary since 2015 and while my mum has been on a me to relax my diet a bit, I just can’t bring myself to eat them having seen footage of all the little unwanted male chicks that get tossed into the meat grinder. I don’t seek it out generally, I just follow PETA on IG.

Its harder to spin hunting from a PR perspective seeing we all know it’s only for elitist toffee-nosed, hurray henrys…

YANBU OP. That’s all ❤️❤️

CalistoNoSolo · 29/03/2023 21:17

Foxhunting, pheasant shooting, grouse shooting etc etc. It's all vile. For me grouse shoots are the worst travesty. The way the land is managed makes it an ecological desert and so many raptors are illegally poisoned and shot. It's an absolute disgrace, and yes our wonderful royals are part and parcel of it. Charles whatever number is the biggest landowner in the UK now. If he wanted to stop blood sports he could tomorrow.

Suzi888 · 29/03/2023 21:18

Scum.

Keepingthingsinteresting · 29/03/2023 21:23

Notice none of the YABU voters have commented- more cowards!

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 29/03/2023 21:23

It's disgusting and they are the absolute scum of the earth.

They (and all who support them) want rounding up and chasing wfh guns squid games style.

Nursejackie1 · 29/03/2023 22:25

I hate it. And also find it weird that those who partake will talk about it to anyone assuming there is absolutely no problem with it at all and it’s a completely normal thing to do. Like they are oblivious there are different views. Vile people
