I'm really panicking.

I had very mild stabbing pain from vagina, not hurting me at all but definitely something there. In shower I had a quick feel and it feels very rough like dry?

I'm panicking now.
In best case scenario I'm wondering if dh accident scratched me on Saturday?
But would that take several days to make itself known? Worse case cancer or herpes. He has cold sores but non I'm aware of at the moment.

I've never ever experienced this before. Should I see doctor?

Could you have left in a tampon ?
I would get it checked though.

Floofyduffypuddy · 28/03/2023 20:09

No I don't use them

Friction burn from vigorous sex?
How 'inside'? Could it be friction burn / rubbing from knickers or jeans?
Irritation from shaving?
Or a rogue fingernail caught you when you've had in itch?

Have you only just noticed this? I would leave it, check again in a couple of days and if still there make an appointment.

Try not to worry, it's most probably nothing scary.

Floofyduffypuddy · 29/03/2023 06:54

Definitely up inside. No vigourous sex.

Dear god, another person who thinks that good clinical advice can be gleaned from a social media platform
Go to the dr

Floofyduffypuddy · 29/03/2023 07:55

@follyfoot37.. Thanks after 10 plus years here I've had plenty of medical advice and from reading others threads.

Why bother posting if your going to be obtuse?

I'm worried and I can't get to the doctor or advise immediately

katiewil · 29/03/2023 07:58

Floofyduffypuddy · 29/03/2023 08:21

@Namechange600

Lichen Sclerosis? When was your last smear?

romdowa · 29/03/2023 08:28

Have you psoriasis? I was shocked to learn you can get patches in your mouth and in the opening of the vagina apparently

Sapphire387 · 29/03/2023 08:42

It's incredibly unlikely to be cancer of the vagina. It's rare, particularly in younger women. Having said that, my sister in law died from it a few years ago in her early forties- she put off going to the doctor for a long time, discounting it as something more minor. It's very treatable if picked up.

I think you should go and get checked out to put your mind at rest.

Redebs · 29/03/2023 08:43

There are hundreds of things it could be. It's silly to ask Mumsnet. Go see your doctor

Floofyduffypuddy · 29/03/2023 09:11

@Redebs.. Nope not silly thanks.

I've just scraped in a phone appt with doctor after a hugely stressful 40 mins queue wait and no female docotr and having to disclose to them receptionist.

Unfortunately no one can see me until Monday.

What if its infected.

OP posts:
Borgonzola · 29/03/2023 15:55

Signs of infection would be high temperature, feeling sick, pain/soreness in region, etc. do you have any of that?

Have you changed laundry detergent recently? Been using vaginal gels or douches? Been washing with soap / different soap to normal? Tried a new sex toy? Been cycling? Had a new sexual partner?

Borgonzola · 29/03/2023 15:57

BV is bacterial vaginosis.

Lichen sclerosus:

GirlInTheDryShirt · 29/03/2023 16:23

Honestly it sounds like common or garden thrush to me. Do you have health anxiety, or is there a reason for you to be catastrophising and immediately thinking cancer?

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 29/03/2023 18:34

Depending on your age it could be vaginal atrophy. Easily eased with cream.

Floofyduffypuddy · 29/03/2023 19:00

So far no discharge or itchyness

OP posts:
Floofyduffypuddy · 29/03/2023 19:01
