Bargain! I’ll take ten nights please!

Surely that’s a typo/mistake…

Ktime · 28/03/2023 19:52

Could it be money laundering 😂

Gingerkittykat · 28/03/2023 20:10

I've got a feeling this price will be a mistake since much nicer properties nearby start from about £900 for a week.

slowquickstep · 28/03/2023 20:43

Surely it is £370

Sunnyjac · 28/03/2023 20:47

I live on the Isle of Wight, I’ll let you stick a tent in my garden for the bargain price of £1,000 per night 🤣

mondaytosunday · 28/03/2023 21:01

Yea it's a mistake. You can get a four bed in the Bay Colwell with on site restaurant and pool and walking distance to beach for less than £1000 for those dates.

StillGotBabyBrain · 09/04/2023 08:12

I think that shower curtain and fold out table allow the 37k price tag. 🤔

BruceAndNosh · 09/04/2023 08:16

It's a perfectly reasonable price, assuming that you get to keep the property at the end of the 5 days

CatOnTheChair · 09/04/2023 08:36

I wondered if it was the price to buy the place, rather than stay for a week.

AlrightJulia · 09/04/2023 08:41

Clearly a typo. There's a chalet owner on the Isle of Wight currently wondering why they're not getting any bookings!

AnonymousArabella · 09/04/2023 08:43

Can’t be right. Or they really really don’t want to let it that week.

We’re staying in a much nicer place there in a few weeks for £650 for the week.

HemlockStarglimmer · 09/04/2023 08:44

Similar places round our way go for nearly that when the golf open is on. But that has to be a misplaced decimal point.

Tiredalwaystired · 09/04/2023 08:55

The link is broken now. It was a typo. You can breathe.

Snoken · 09/04/2023 09:03

I’d pay that if it meant I owned the place after the 5 nights.

Iseestupidpeople · 09/04/2023 11:03

It’s a tax scam. You buy a summer home 2nd 3rd 4th home. And if you rent it out for at least 10 days I think you don’t pay council tax or something but have it on for rent. So they price it unrealistically extortionate so no one actually books it when they want to use it, but it remains available for rent on paper so to speak.

FromDespairToHere · 09/04/2023 14:33

If you click on the date it shows the nightly rates, it's never less than £4grand per night!

swimlyn · 09/04/2023 14:40

To be fair, you do get internet access AND parking...

Meercatpufferfish · 09/04/2023 15:41

If it includes the ferry, then it's about right.

GCAcademic · 09/04/2023 15:44

Don’t forget to factor in the £100 breakage deposit when you book, OP!

CoppidwellNan · 10/04/2023 15:14

I've booked 6 chalets at the same complex or very close. Think they're about £375 each mon to Friday. Definitely a typo error.

BunnyRabbitSandwich · 10/04/2023 15:48

I mean it’s the whole chalet… 😂 Otherwise, it really would be a rip off.

WhereYouLeftIt · 10/04/2023 15:54

Ktime · 28/03/2023 19:52

Could it be money laundering 😂

My very thought! I remember seeing ludicrously-priced items on Ebay years ago and apparently it was a way to move money around, under the radar.

ThinWomansBrain · 10/04/2023 16:13

Link is still up and running - must have been a sudden surge of interest that stopped PP accessing it.
Re the council tax scam suggested, if I had enough money for 2/3/4 holiday homes, and was simply trying to save council tax, I'd rather have just one that was a lot more luxurious than a garden shed with bunk beds. How much can the council tax be FFS?

If it is a typo, odd that the owner hasn't double checked their own listing to ensure correct - even without the presumable lack of bookings.
