To say I haven’t missed out

I overheard someone I know today (late 20s) saying that everyone she knows that has been in a longer relationship in their 20s has missed out on all the fun and having a good time.

I’ve been with my partner since I was 18 (I’m 30 now) and don’t feel that I’ve missed out (went to a university 200 miles away, progressed with my career, loads of holidays and nights out) but it’s got me wondering what others think.

AIBU to think that I haven’t missed out by not being single in my 20s?

I’ve only ever had sex with one man, but it was good sex. I don’t feel I missed out.

Is it an euphemism for sleeping around? 🤢
YANBU ofc. Never seen the appeal in being the town bike.

Sparklesocks · 27/03/2023 21:41

Of course not. That’s just one person’s opinion. You don’t have to justify yourself to anyone.

YANBU!

Though everyone is different. I agree with you completely but some people enjoy dating, the fun and excitement of it. Others want a cosy and settled carry on from an early age. Not one right or wrong way

Missed out on what?!?!

Travelling the world?

It's generally the words spoken by someone not lucky enough to meet a soul mate yet!

SpinningFloppa · 27/03/2023 21:48

Nope!! I’ve only slept with one person from 21 to 28 I don’t feel like I missed out from not sleeping around, I now haven’t had sex in 6 years through choice but depends if you like that kind of thing though I don’t like casual sex.

If you don’t want to travel the world… you’re doing your 20s wrong of course 😉
