To not use this baby milk?

Realised we were running short on baby milk this evening,
I said, I'll pop to the corner shop, I saw some there the other day.
I picked it up, and realised that the spoon wasn't the same colour as it usually is, I thought, that's odd, checked the date on the bottom of the tin, it said it was in date. I sort of inwardly chastised myself for being anxious, obviously the milks fine!

I went to make a bottle, still couldn't shake that the tin didn't seem quite right.

The shade of the writing on the tin was slightly different to what I usually get, the date area is blue on the usual tins I get, this isn't, there's a scan code on this tin that's black, where its usually blue on the others.

Then my husband tried to make a bottle and the milk powder just sat on the top of the water, whereas the other tins don't do that. Even after shaking like usual the powder was sat on top of the water. I've also just realised that the formula I purchased today was over £2 less than what I usually pay in tesco.

Unsure whether this is just me being anxious, I mean, surely there's no such thing as fake baby milks?

Maybe it's made in a different country? I know that Heinz when bought at some other stores is from another country.

But you are always right to trust your instincts.

Of course there are fake baby milks. Contact the forumula company explaining that you believe it may be counterfeit and they'll ask you to send it in and will test it. They'll want to know where and when you bought it.

Yes, there is such a thing as fake baby milk.

Fakes can be very convincing. They can be incredibly difficult to detect.

The powder is sitting I the top, and you said it doesn’t usually. I wouldn’t use it because of that.

Is it worth the risk?
Im hella fussy when it comes to stuff for my kids but I always think better safe than sorry x

Thanks for the outside confirmation I was doing the "right" thing. I've got OCD, and I'm incredibly picky with food, especially when I'm.unwell. a lot of me being better is fighting against what feels like the instincts that keep us safe.
On this one, I really needed a bit of outside confirmation- I wasn't sure if my husband was just agreeing for an easy life!

I'll definitely call SMA this morning and see if they'll accept it to check it, again- seemed a perfectly reasonable thing to do, but I'm still trying to figure out what instincts are really instincts and where am I having a bit of an overreaction.
