Hi,

Posting on AIBU for traffic

Has anyone got a spare room in the Manchester area that they can rent out to a couple urgently? Current living situation is bad and. At risk of becoming homeless. Thanks

Have you checked on gumtree and Spare room.com?

LlynTegid · 20/03/2023 17:35

Is there a local community group you can approach?

Most of these rooms don't accept couples :(

if you’re that desperate, you would go to any lengths to try and find something

you say current living situation is bad and. At risk of becoming homeless. what are the circumstances you can share?

Did you not pay rent or something, why can't you get emergency accommodation from council. There are pretty important facts before any one will offer you accommodation.

I know of places but you need to enlighten us as to why it's such short notice and what your circumstances are.

If you're at risk of becoming homeless, suggest you speak to your council's housings dept.

They aren't rationed, just sign up. Then you'll have one and might be able to help yourself.

Create one then!

Facebook doesn't cost anything, you can sign up for free.

I don’t think anyone in Manchester able and willing to personally house homeless people in their spare room would have struggled to find candidates before now tbh.

Can you lot please knock it off regarding Faceook.

There is probably a reason why @user0786 doesn't want to join FB. When I used it, it was mostly vaguebooking, narcissism, left-right politics and virtue-signalling. Even if your own friends didn't have the above traits, the issues are still abundant on FB and hard to avoid.

Of course you can avoid, or at least minimise, those issues. Join FB, joint local group to look for properties then close your account. No need to look at anything else. No need to add any friends etc.

How terrible that must have been for you, being exposed to ideas that don't align with your own political opinions. Are you always triggered so easily?

I'm sure OP can set up a Facebook account purely for the purposes of accessing groups with names like "Manchester rooms for rent" and looking at Marketplace.
