To ask if there are any archaeologists on here as I have a question

If you discover human remains on a dig, even if you can tell they are really old eg hundreds of years, do you still need to tell the police?
And can you remove the bodies if you think there's more to be learned from them or do you need to get a licence?

You definitely need to leave them in situ and inform the authorities!
