Miscarriage now is this a chemical pregnancy

I had a miscarriage 5 weeks ago at 7 weeks, hcg returned to 0 and we tried again, got a positive result on Saturday at 10DPO, tested again at 11DPO with no change in the line, then I did one today at lunchtime at 12DPO and it is very much lighter. Is this a chemical pregnancy? My back hurts so much and I feel like it’s going into my groin and it’s reminding me of my miscarriage. I’m so devastated and I feel like something is wrong with me. Should I retest in the morning? Top is 10DPO middle 11DPO bottom is today 12DPO.

I'm sorry that sounds really tough.

I've been there. The best way to get clarity is to go for a blood test today and then another a couple of days from now. They'll be able to see if the pregnancy hormones are going up or down.

I would stop with the urine tests. They aren't going to tell you anything accurate and they will just stress you out.

Test in the morning. Do you have a early pregnancy unit locally that you could contact tomorrow after testing?

Newmama93 · 20/03/2023 04:25

yes I do but they often tell you to go to the doctor if you aren’t further along, it’s so hard, I can tell it’s a chemical my lines are lighter today and that’s not normal. This is so hard.

Its v v v early and testing at different times will cause the line to vary.
Test again unaing fmu and only compare the fmu tests. Good luck xx

It could just be down to hydration levels. I'd lay off the testing for a couple of days, you can drive yourself mad staring at lines.

Newmama93 · 20/03/2023 06:54

I really do hope so, I didn’t feel very hydrated at the test today, and now I’ve checked cervix (gross I know! ) and it feels firmer :(

If the others were morning tests and the last one was lunch time that could be the reason. Everything crossed for you!

SycophantsUnite · 20/03/2023 07:05

My tests went darker then lighter and I was convinced I was out... baby now 2. Not out! I think early on the differences in hydration etc make a huge impact.

I hope this comes across in the spirit that it is intended. Testing before a missed period can do more harm than good to your mental health. Many women wouldn't even know they had experienced a chemical pregnancy because they aren't tracking it obsessively. There really isn't anything you can do at this stage. Be kind to yourself. If you do want to keep track then only use fmu so you can have a better comparison. Otherwise put the tests away and wait for a missed period.

The very first one (10dpo) was a lunchtime test but I hadn’t been to the toilet since 5am, then today it was maybe more diluted but even so thought it would be darker at 12dpo. Just so down it’s probably a chemical after we just lost one and the age gap is getting bigger

OP, I'm inclined to agree here.
Perhaps don't do any more early tests and wait to at least the missed period then take it from there 💐

(speaking from experience, 2x late mmc & 1x chemical (5.5weeks)). I now have my rainbow baby (currently fast asleep while the older two get ready for school).

Fingers crossed this is your rainbow 🌈 💛
