To be fed up of holiday company bombarding me with emails.

Been away as soon as you get back its where do you want to go next email.
Then they must have seen I was browsing the website and which holiday I was looking at and they sent me an email saying don't forget to book xxxxx.

How can we stop companies tracking what we are looking at etc and sending us messages.

If you want to book you will book won't you. Don't need them on at you.

Private browsers
Always log out and choose not to “keep me logged in”
clear browsing history
Always unsubscribe from mailing lists, and ensure you opt out of marketing

Really; there are a lot of really simple steps you can take to prevent this. Or, just don’t read the emails.

girlfriend44 · 17/03/2023 16:45

Why should they keep doing it though?

It's not just holiday companies, it's all of them. Next regularly email me about items I've just bought, trying to sell me the same item in a different colour, or a similar item they think I might like.

If you don't like it, you need opt out of marketing emails or unsubcribe, simple.

Marketing just that I'm afraid.

Always unsubscribe from emails after your holiday or bought your "thing" and what the pp said about clearing history

Is it jet2. They bombarded me as well. I can't afford a holiday this year and last year was my first since 2018 and straight away they were bombarding me to book the next one. I just unsubscribed. It's like any company. I bought candles from one company- get bombarded. A laptop case- get bombarded. You get the picture. It's just marketing.

About 4/5 years ago we went on two Viking river cruises (times were easier!). Since then they have posted brochures to us at least once a week, really can't believe they have not taken us off their mailing list. Very annoying as I would quite happily live on one of their ship's if money would allow!

Browse incognito.

Not just holidays, I had an email at work about a Masters degree on offer to my area of work. I was a bit nosy so clicked through as I thought it might be something my son might be interested in. I then had two phone calls and an email thanking me for my interest in the course and did I want to sign up!

Oblomov23 · 17/03/2023 17:36

I just press unsubscribe.

cocksstrideintheevening · 17/03/2023 18:05

Just unsubscribe. It's really not a big deal.

I don't think I have ever dealt with Fred Olsen cruises in any form yet I receive at least two brochures every week from them. They've been returned 'unknown at this address' and still they keep coming.

At least that has pretty pictures of nice places. I get the betterware catalogue. At least I know I can always order a shoe horn if I need one.

i Think most companies are doing it. I bought a pair of Rohan trousers a couple of weeks ago and they’ve sent me almost daily emails. I unsubscribed, but have no intention of ever buying anything from them again.

who on earth wants to get that amount of mail?
