Fears about holiday clubs

DD is nearly 6, we keep getting emails from the school about various holiday (often sports) clubs where you drop your child off and collect them later on.I think at some point soon she might enjoy accessing things like that.

I know it may sound ridiculous to some, but I do feel wary about sending her because she will be supervised by unknown adults and due to the sports aspect I know many could be male.Don't get me wrong I know there are many really fantastic male sports coaches out there, but in the back of my mind I can't deny I am scared about the risks of sexual abuse, and think about the stories of the football coaches abusing the young boys.I know females can abuse too of course, but it is obviously much rarer.

Just to clarify, this is not due to my own experiences, however my dad was always very protective of me (overly so sometimes) in this regard, not letting me go to sleep overs etc possibly for that reason I don't know.
I am also very protective of DD but conscious that I don't want her to miss out either!

I do work in safeguarding and I think that makes me more aware and overly risk averse at times I admit.

How do I find a balance....feeling reassured she is safe, but not letting her miss out either?!
