To ask for a discount on airbnb?

Alright, so I am looking at renting a villa for a week. I’m looking at travelling during their low season. The villa has hardly any bookings for the low season.

I’ve found the villa advertised elsewhere, with the owner’s personal email address. Although the price on the other website is the same as airbnb. I’d rather not give airbnb £200 in service fees. I’ve researched the owner and she has great reviews.

AIBU or Am I being too Cheeky if I send the owner an email directly to ask for a quote?

If the info is available elsewhere then of course it's not cheeky to go through that site and contact the owner.

Just go through the non airbnb route using her email - not cheeky in any way.

You're not unreasonable in asking for a discount, not at all. But chances are that the owner won't get more money by renting through the other site, as they will be charged fees by that site too.
