To think I could be in perimenopause at 32?

Is it possible? I just feel like something isn't right with me. Full disclosure, I was diagnosed with a 10cm dermoid cyst on my ovary recently and am waiting for surgery to remove it. So originally I thought, ok it's the cyst affecting me. But then the gynecologist said dermoid cysts don't affect hormones.

So now I'm thinking is it peri?? Symptoms I'm having are:

  • Bleeding every month between periods (has been going on since I was 29)
  • My cycles are usually very regular but last two months they were 36 and 24 days
  • Night sweats before/during period
  • Hot flashes in the daytime
  • Last 2 weeks I've been unbearably itchy
  • In the past year I've lost my libido
  • Much dryer skin than I've ever had before

I know 32 is young but if it's not peri and it's not the cyst then what else is wrong with me??

Has anyone been through peri this young? Or had a dermoid cyst that gave them menopause like symptoms?

My peri started at 37. Long family history of it. A friend also went though meno at 18. Its not unheard of unfortunately.

Have you had your thyroid checked OP? I had most of those symptoms with an overactive thyroid.

Hmm, I don't know for sure. The GP did blood tests a few months ago but I'm not sure exactly if they checked for thyroid

I'm trying to get another GP appointment at the mo (particularly for the itching!) but unless you're on deaths door my GP practice don't want to know

Yes. My mum went through the menopause at 34-35.
