To go out on a Friday night without DH

DH travels quite a lot for work. He is flying off tomorrow for the week, back Friday. But my friend has invited me for dinner on Friday evening (women only, no partners, old school friends).
I also went out Friday night (yesterday) with some different friends. Now DH has got the huff saying I don't think he's important. But given he is away a lot of the time, I don't think I should turn down invitations to go out, even if that's the day he's just arrived back. I need to have a life for myself. I think after nearly 30 years of marriage he needs to get a grip. AIBU?

Well obviously you should be home in a pinny and lipstick..
Tell him you will leave the red mat out for him.

What a knob

I travel a lot for work and would be positively encouraging DH to go out with his mates on a Friday night when I've been overseas all week and he's done all the childcare. I'd also like a quiet night in to myself to spend time with the children and get an early night to overcome jetlag.

Yanbu. My DH works abroad a lot and encourages me to go out with friends when he's home. Means we don't need to get a babysitter and he enjoys nights out when working.
As long as you balance it out with quality time together at home, I don't see the problem.

Depends are there DC involved? If not then I would probably be trying to see my friends during the week when he isn't around. Obviously there would be times when it wasn't possible but not as a regular thing

YANBU. You have to live your life.

Does he expect you to switch that off and be a dutiful wife? Nah! Let him be grumpy & have a great time!
