I was just musing on this this afternoon while waiting in a long queue at the prescription counter at Boots. The queue stretched the length of the baby products stands so I had ample time to look and I noticed that every single baby product with a picture on it showed baby with mother - never, ever with Dad. And I just wondered, in an idle, passing the time sort of way what people thought.
IABU mothers are the primary caregivers of babies (whether this should be so is for another thread!) so it’s reasonable that mothers should be shown
IANBU this perpetuates society’s traditional idea that baby/child care is for women, not men, and if more men/Dads were shown this might change the perception that fathers dont/shouldn’t do baby care.
