AIBU not to take anymore antibiotics?

I had a fever for 3 days with back pain being the only other symptom, on day 3 I went to the doctors, the doctor took a urine sample and did a stick test, I was diagnosed with a UTI based on what came back. I was prescribed antibiotics. I have never had a UTI before but when I googled I didn’t have the usual symptoms of needing a wee lots or stinging etc.

I started the antibiotics and the fever went almost immediately. However, I have had an allergic reaction to them so now have a red itchy rash all over my body which is unbearable. Spoke to the doctor today who then prescribed an alternative antibiotic, said they were still waiting for lab results at this point as had sent my sample off for testing.

I have the NHS app and seen that my test results came back this evening and it says ‘URINE CULTURE REPORT, negative’. My doctors is now closed but does anyone know what this means? I am feeling reluctant to start the second lot of antibiotics due to the risk of adverse side effects, presumably risk is the fever coming back though?

Just fed up of feeling unwell and wondering if others who have more experience of UTIs can provide any advice!

The ‘usual symptoms’ aren’t suffered by everyone though. Some people feel tired and unwell, others have increased frequency, some have burning & stinging, some have the whole lot!

You had something wrong though if you had a temp & felt better once starting the antibiotics, just not a UTI it seems!
