Does anyone remember when we were told we’d only have to click on ‘Consent to cookies?’ once?! 🙄

When the changes to cookie policies were being introduced, we were all told how we would only ever need to click on these boxes once and then websites would remember our choices.

Well! That didn’t happen did it?!

AIBU to find it annoying to have to click on the consent to cookies box every time I go on a website that I haven’t been on for a few days? Sooo frustrating!

Search for 'I don't care about cookies', there are lots of plugins for various internet browsers that get rid of the cookie popups for good.

It's so annoying, I agree!

thought it was just me

i can go on a website the same day and it will ask me again

Are you sure you're not browsing in incognito mode? My dad was for months ("it always logs me out and asks me about cookies!") before I pointed it out to him

YY the browser add ons that auto accept cookies are the best for this.

It's so stupid because it's made people even more blasé about them. I can't be arsed to jump through whatever hoops they set up to accept only the essential ones so I just click on whatever will make it go away.

I do know what cookies are and why I would want to refuse them but I just don't care enough to read through it all.

They should have made the law that the company is only allowed to automatically use the essential ones but they should have a visible link so that you can opt in for the more intrusive ones if you want to.
