Are phone cameras just vengefully mean?

I thought I looked relatively nice earlier and took a pic. No, I look like the grizzled grinch from hell.

I don't use photoshop but is it like this for anyone else? You look OK in the mirror, then...

It's like they want to hurt you! Or accept reality

It's definitely not you!

What I mean is, I think it's difficult to look good in an unfiltered photo, no matter how good you look ... unless the angle and lighting are just right.

There’s nothing like the shock of accidentally switching the phone camera onto yourself 😳

My phone camera is a nasty vengeful bitch. I think it’s closely related to the awful sign in machines that take your photo and print it off for ID when you visit schools.

I never take selfies for this reason.

I agree OP I find it very hard to get a good selfie.

I bet you do look great. I was recently at a wedding thought I looked good but the pictures were shocking! However someone was recording and when I saw that I looked fine. It is all about angles and lighting you can tell some people have worked out their best angle and know how to make them selves look good by them always being in that position/angle for photos.
