Hopefully it's not frowned upon that I post in here and not the wedding forum. It's less quiet and also I'm not having a traditional wedding in any sense so what I really want is unusual party ideas.
Partner and I are hoping to elope to vegas next September and take a handful of friends & family so 10 guests or less. We hate being the centre of attention so this is perfect for us. We will marry in the desert, not a chapel.
I want to have a celebration after with all our wider friends and family, but I don't want a wedding reception style event. So I'm looking for some unique and fun ideas!
So far I've thought of:
Boat party (our local town does them but they are pricey and I'm not sure how many will be seasick types!)
DIY event in a field somewhere (weather dependent and not sure how legal this is)
Renting out a restaurant or cocktail bar (but it might be a very dark space)
DIY event in a rented hall (not sure if this would come across a bit tacky)
There has to be better than this. I like the idea of a desert/vegas themed party somehow, and wearing my dress. Not interested in any of the usual wedding reception stuff.
Any inspo would be greatly received 💕
