Has anyone ever had this?

No one could hear the music during the walk down the aisle, the signing or exit!

what’s your AIBU?

RiktheButler · 16/02/2023 13:01

Recorded music or live? Venue provided or by the couple? Built in system or standalone?
What exactly are you asking here? I know a bit about weddings from working literally hundreds, but I'm honestly confused by what your issue is...

gelatogina · 16/02/2023 13:09

I mean that’s a bit annoying if that happened on your wedding day but what’s your question?

did the speaker not work? Or someone didn’t turn it up?

is it really the end of the world?

SleeplessInEngland · 16/02/2023 13:10

Unless you're the bride who's spent months orgainsing it I can't imagine giving a shit.

CatherineMaitland · 16/02/2023 13:19

Some venues have super strict noise rules due to planning conditions - any chance that could be a factor?

lanthanum · 16/02/2023 13:19

I nearly had it at a funeral. The music was on a phone, and it had been tested with the sound system in the morning and about half an hour beforehand. When it came to the time, for some reason it was no longer talking to the sound system. (Fortunately the organist could step in, and we do now have a more reliable sound system.) These things happen, and some churches don't have much of a sound system so may be relying on a ghettoblaster.

StillWantingADog · 16/02/2023 13:21

Was there actually music at all? Some people just don’t have any

zingally · 16/02/2023 13:22

Who cares?

Certainly not enough to make a MN post about it.

Riapia · 16/02/2023 13:32

So, the view of MN posters is that music is not an important part of the wedding ceremony.

Therefore you must be unreasonable to expect any.

Not sure anyone actually said that, just that the volume isn't the most important part of the ceremony (it's not). This thread though is one of the vaguest I've seen on MN and might benefit from a tiny bit of clarification

Were you the bride or the mother of the bride or the chief bridesmaid.

DaveyJonesLocker · 16/02/2023 17:29

If it was your wedding I can imagine you being disappointed but shit happens and if this was the worst thing that happened then you were lucky. My DHs uncle with dementia was lost/left at the hotel.
