To bloody hate these YouTube kids shows?

2 year old DD is obsessed with Baby Shark at the moment. It's been 2 months and DP and I are going absolutely insane from being made to put it on repeat for 10 hours a day. As soon as she wakes up it's "BABY SHARK MUMMY!" and she will prod and poke and jump until I put it on. I have tried diverting her interest to something more tolerable like Ben & Holly or Bluey but she will not have it. It is the absolute worst, most repetitive, annoying thing I have ever had the misfortune of watching. Even the "remixes" and different versions are dreadful.

DAE loathe these shows? I'm talking Cocomelon, nursery rhyme compilations and the like. IMO they are really overstimulating and serve no purpose other than generating money from children and parents who mindlessly click on videos all day.

Also, any tips on how to eliminate Baby Shark from my child's brain?

Cold turkey. Give it a week to forget.

I've avoided showing child coco melon stuff for this reason.

Stop putting it on, she's 2, you're the adult. She'll get over it!

When mine were younger one of mine used to go crackers when Ben & Holly got turned off after one episode so I banned it entirely!

"Being made to put it on 10 hours a day"🙄

You are the parent, it's your own fault for allowing so much screen time.

I’m glad none of my kids have ever liked them, I think I have the only children that have never liked baby shark/ cocomelon 🤣

She's 2, just turn it off and take it away

I hate that stuff too, agree with the others take it away! It will be tough for a few days and then it will ease off. We went camping for a week with no screens and then never allowed it again... Not the weather for that now though! Plan other activities for distractions. Now mine is 3.5 and she does have an ipad but I only let her use it a couple of times a month. I told her I have to call 'a man' to get it delivered and she can have it for that evening and then it is returned to 'the man'.... Like room service! Sometimes it is useful for her to use the ipad if I have urhent extra work in the evening but I hate to see her when she is sucked into it and even then, from one night she will probably moan for it for a few days after. Break the habit of the child watching YouTube as soon as you can. I noticed an improvement in behaviour really quickly after too. It will be hard for a gew days but don't give in.
