I know this is first world problems and everything but our financial situation has Meant this year we can't go abroad till beginning of October.
Last year we had a winter sun break to Gran Canaria in November but just couldn't afford the 6 weeks holidays
I just feel a bit down today because it seems so far away..seeing all the bikinis etc in shops and knowing it's 8 months till we go away.
I know it's not exactly a huge problem but I feel a bit blah today

We have other things planned in uk-couple of weekends away /gigs etc but obviously no main summer holiday -just the winter sun

How do I get over feeling like this ?
Aibu ?

We had to cancel our skiing holiday this year. Normally about now I’d be enjoying my first croissant of the week. I know how fortunate I am, but it still feels a bit shit.

Try to have a few lovely home based activities to look forward to. Hopefully, we will get a warm summer which will help.

And it’ll be a lovely feeling to be jetting off in October, when it is driech here, and everyone else is back to work!

@WaggyTailsWetNoses ah I'm sorry to hear that.
I've always wanted to do a ski holiday
My partner goes to Switzerland once a year but I've never went along

I’m a bit the same - usually would have something planned or even booked but due to 2 big birthdays and a family wedding can’t really afford a holiday at present
if finances improve might be able to do a cheap sunshine holiday in October or November but will have to see
