My DS has come up with this rash in the past few months, (he had similar last year which we thought was chicken pox but never went away)

I know round his neck and knees is eczema but the rash on his stomach and legs is not clearing up at all GP said this could be scabies, he's not itchy (apart from the patch on his chest) no one else in the house has any rash or anything

The pharmacist has said it could be some sort of intolerance / allergy but we haven't changed what he eats or washing powder or anything like that!

Currently moisturising 6 times a day and have some steroid cream for the patch on his chest only

Does anyone have any ideas of what this could be?

Did you find out what this was? My son has a similar rash on his arms

@Tinydancer1234 Hi no! He was eventually diagnosed with eczema and it did clear up a lot with steroids but he does have flare ups often just not as bad as this

My son has something similar and I can’t help but wonder if it’s eczema now but it’s so strange because it just came on all of a sudden and like you and your child they haven’t eaten anything different or used any diff detergents. I think I’m going to get him allergy tested and have an appointment with the dermatologist next week. I’ve been convinced it’s scabies from the way it presents until I saw your pictures & now I’m confused. The only difference is is that I came out in spots too but mine have pretty much gone now. It’s good you say no one else has got it as this means it’s highly unlikely to have been scabies. Thank you for taking the time to answer as I know your post was some time ago.

@Tinydancer1234 we thought chicken pox at first and even now he gets 'spots' luckily nursery know this so he doesn't get sent home every few weeks!

The GP did do allergy testing for quite a few things (main allergens and some other we thought it might be) and nothing came back so we've given up on that for now since everything seems to have settled somewhat.
