Nursery sending home due to loose stools

After a stomach bug last week. My son was sick last week with a stomach bug. Vomited for a day or so, and diarrhea for 1.5 days. Ever since he has had on and off loose stools. Not diarrhea or watery anymore just very loose. Spoke TO a GP who said he's very unlikely to be infectious anymore and their guys just take a while to recover. Have tried explaining this to nursery but they insist on sending him home and he's been home for 2 days now. Hes absolutely fine, bouncing off the walls but nursery will not take him. AIBU in thinking I should be able to send him in and common sense says he's fine now, or are they in the right here in being super strict? Not looking to cause an argument or argue with anyone, I'm just a very tired and frustrated lone parent who cannot go to work!

Annoying, but it’s pretty much in every nursery policy. Years ago, my son got a bad stomach bug and had loose stalls for weeks afterwards- GP said probably a temporary lactose intolerance as this can sometimes happen and wrote me a note for nursery. If you’re sure it’s not a bug you could ask the GP? But obviously it won’t be a priority for them to do this at the moment. I remember how annoying it was!

I have no chance of getting a GP appt and would have to pay £30 for a letter. The GP I spoke to is my child's godfather. It is horribly annoying.

Agree with previous poster my kids have just come through that sickness bug and they definitely only had loose stools after milk - sickness last 2-3 days but the loose stools probably 4-5 luckily my childminder is very reasonable when it comes to stuff like that

Didn't even think of milk causing it and he had a big glass earlier. Argh!
