To ask for Air BNB review to be removed.

Due to Covid and the subsequent lockdowns, my family and I have taken up mountain walking.

We always use Air BNB.

I tried to book our next trip and it was cancelled shortly after. No reason given. I waited to receive my payment back before booking another one. Again, cancelled.

I contacted Air BNB and was told that our last host had left us a 2 star review. So this must be why the last 2 bookings were cancelled.

We really are excellent guests. We make sure to leave the home as we found it, piling up bedding if requested, emptying the dishwasher, hoovering etc.

There was zero reason why I deserved 2 stars.

When I checked my account, the 2 star review comment said 'pleasant guests'

Is there any way I can get this removed? We've already booked annual leave for the dates and it's going to be difficult to find somewhere purely because of this unjustified review.

Just set up a new account.

Sounds like the last host made a mistake on the stars. Are you able to contact them to ask them to resolve it for you?

NoDairyNoProblem · 03/02/2023 19:03

Is it possible to register under another email address?

Concernedneighbour21 · 03/02/2023 19:14

I can register under a different ID but previous to this review, I had 5 star feedback from our hosts.

I'd prefer to keep this account so that future hosts can see we are good guests.

Airbnb is a bloody menace. I remain hopeful there will be planning and other controls imposed.

I can see why you're annoyed but it's the wild west so I think you have to lump it.

If you want fair treatment, don't use Airbnb.

Just contact the host and ask them to edit. If they won’t then contact air bnb

Kitkatfiend31 · 03/02/2023 19:30

Booking.com! Works for us every time.

My friend who runs a AirBnb gets them removed when they’re ridiculous or baseless. Definitely ask them
