AIBU to think that teenagers are the original model for vampires? (Not that serious!)

Because:

1. they are unbelievably beautiful, with sparkly skin, shiny hair & bright eyes

2. they prefer to live in the dark, often becoming nocturnal during the holidays

3. they appear completely languid, but can move faster than the speed of light when some sweet treat appears in the kitchen (and they can clear the kitchen of a week’s worth of food overnight)

4. compared with my middle-aged faculties, their eyesight & hearing are preternaturally good

5. lots of them like to dress in black

I agree!
But they have another rare and inexplicable quality.
You can stand in front of them and tell them something important, in a loud clear voice. But they won't hear you.

Then you can whisper something about them, behind a closed door on the other side of the house, while they've got the Xbox on loud, and they'll shout "stop talking about me"!!

@Sarahcoggles this is so true!! One of my teens has ASD and hearing seems to be their superpower (when they want it to be!)

I can't get my pre-teen away from the bloody mirror. I've had to get a small hand mirror and do my make-up in the bedroom.
