Cadbury/covid? Wtf is wrong with my dairy milk?

I had covid twice in 4 months last year. Didn't think I'd been left with any ongoing problems but have just had a bar of dairy milk and it tastes awful!?

Have they changed the recipe or is my sense of taste screwed? I don't think anything else has changed taste, just my favourite chocolate bar.

YANBU - Cadburys has changed for the worse
YABU - It's your aging/disease-ridden taste buds at fault

They changed the recipe a while back. Only the dairy milk things made in Ireland now taste nice - freddos, Easter eggs and maybe buttons I think, it’s horrible.

Changed for the worse

007DoubleOSeven · 31/01/2023 18:28

Definitely ruined. Not you.

JudithHarper · 31/01/2023 18:29

Not you at all. The so-called chocolate is ruined.

AllTheAll · 31/01/2023 18:31

It's not you. And I'm ready to march and demand changes. How very dare them.

Bagzzz · 31/01/2023 18:32

How long ago are you comparing? They ruined Cadbury for me a few years ago. Haven’t heard of a recent change though so if you liked it just before you had covid then might be your sense of taste.
As PP said some is traditional so maybe try the ones like Freddo

Can2022getanyworse · 31/01/2023 18:36

I suspect I need to do some more research. Off to sainsburys to buy Freddos....

Last time I had a fruit and nut it made me vomit for 2 hours afterwards.
Something very different about Cadburys now.

nowwhherredowestay · 31/01/2023 18:42

It's awful now. Galaxy is still good

MaverickGooseGoose · 31/01/2023 18:47

Palm oil not covid. Vile.

maddiemookins16mum · 31/01/2023 18:54

Pretty sure there’s not a glass and a half in every bar these days. It’s oil you’re tasting, not dairy.

YourTruthorMine · 31/01/2023 18:57

Only Twirls taste the same, bought some creme eggs on Saturday and they were vile, nothing like the ones I remember from childhood

Chickenwing2 · 31/01/2023 19:26

I think Cadbury's chocolate is delicious & have never noticed any change Confused

misskatamari · 31/01/2023 19:29

Cadburys is rank now! Get thee to aldi and get some choceur and moser Roth!

DashboardConfessional · 31/01/2023 19:30

I eat less and buy Tony's instead. Reminds me of when Lush took palm oil out of their soap and you were left with a large plasticy lego brick with no lather.

OneTC · 31/01/2023 19:31

You've suddenly developed better taste Wink

Sloth66 · 31/01/2023 19:34

It’s likely to contain a glass and a half of palm oil rather than milk these days. Leaves a horrible taste and oily film in the mouth.
I stopped buying it a long time ago. Aldi chocolate is cheaper, nicer taste, no palm oil.

LadyEloise1 · 31/01/2023 19:40

Check the label - Cadbury's chocolate made in Ireland has OCO ( stands for Coolock where the factory is ) on the labelling.

desperadodogface · 31/01/2023 19:50

Try the mini eggs choc bar. That tastes like childhood. The rest tastes like lard 🤢

Theraffarian · 31/01/2023 20:33

I had a box of milk tray last week which tasted odd , I couldn’t eat them , which is not like me and chocolate. I think it’s only dairy milk that is still made properly by Cadbury, I know they changed things a long time back , but it feels like another nasty change has happened on top of that.

007DoubleOSeven · 31/01/2023 22:01

I used to love Milk Tray - used to prefer it above luxury chocolates, bought a box as a treat last year and it was disgusting.
