What things make your birthday special or do you do for others?

Card cake and presents yes but are there any other little touches that make your birthday special? Or is there something you do or have done for others to make theirs a special day?

I realise some will say we are not 7 and I know that, but, if you do like to indulge in a bit of birthday 🥳 what makes it special?

I'm not actually fussed on cards and presents for that matter. Knowing that I am in other peoples thoughts make mine special - is that a bit fluffy.

Love doing balloon banners and cake candles for others though.

I do a birthday meal for my DH, my children and their partners. They can choose what they want to eat and I make a cake. It was just for my own children but then I found out that the partner of one has useless parents who basically don't do anything for them and so I asked them if they would like me to do that for them too. They were almost pathetically grateful to have me do that for them as well! My husband does this for me too. It gives us an opportunity to celebrate the special day of the birthday boy/girl as a family.
