To put a tumble dryer in a bedroom?

the kitchen is tiny and it makes it so hot in there and it gets in the way quite a bit.
Would it be weird to put it in my bedroom? I live in a flat so it's not like I'd have to be carrying wet washing upstairs to dry it all the time or anything.

Depends on how big your bedroom is really. Will the washer be located there as well? If so, and it's out of the way and hidden in a cupboard then possibly ok. I wouldn't want to be seeing them in my room as a focal point. Definitely do not separate the washer and dryer. That's a pain in the ass to be transporting wet laundry through the house.

I think it's pretty strange to have an appliance in the bedroom on its own if not hidden away. Having it there makes a bit of sense if you've got not children because the laundry has far less to travel.

I dislike washing machines in the kitchen and they it's very strange to have them there. We have a separate laundry room for our washer and dryer but I understand that a lot of people don't have the space for it.

Might make it a bit damp.

If it works for you then why not? It will warm your bedroom up too

You’d probably end up with damp and it’s likely to be bad for your respiratory system too

I assume it's a condensor. I would be careful about damp, as they do let out quite a bit of moisture. Certainly you'd have to air out which tumble drying.

That said, at one point we lived in a house that had no space for one and had it in a cupboard. We kept the door open when using it and it was fine for the year or so we lived there.

I think it would be ok. My heat pump dryer is in a cupboard without any issues.

I’d struggle with the aesthetic personally in my bedroom so would want a screen or something to hide it.

We did in our last house until we switched to a washer dryer. We used to stick the vent out of a window. It didn't look great and was really a last option.
