To think adults referring to Peer Pressure is ridiculous?

Maybe it's just need but the amount of adults that refer to peer pressure is ridiculous?

I can understand how kids and even teenagers feel the need to fit in but surely grown adults should have enough independence to jot be influenced by others.

References to feel peer pressure to get married, have kids, go for another drink or whatever seem crazy to me.

People do not exist in a vacuum. We live in a society where people (particularly women) are severely judged if they do not follow certain social conventions. There are hundreds of threads on MN that attest to this.

If you think busy being an adult somehow makes one immune to this, then YABU.
