To think milk thistle is magic?

I gave up nightly alcohol at the end of Dec.
I've had a bottle of wine on two occasions over two weekends since. So two in the month.
Started milk thistle and b vitamins and upped my water intake and feel like a new woman entirely.
So much energy , form so much better, feel a bit lighter and maybe a Bit flatter .
Could it be that milk thistle really is magic ?

Sole and lemon? Was that a typo? Im on board with lemon and water but that's above and beyond if you are necking water with fish in.

FourTeaFallOut · 26/01/2023 14:23

Sorry, ignore that. Glass of water and sole and lemon to eat. I'm an idiot. As you were.

comeondover · 26/01/2023 14:41

Sole is some kind of salt water, not the fish.

Just cutting right back on the alcohol will have made a massive difference especially as you didn’t appear to be a light drinker.

Well done on this massive change to your life and I hope you are able to sustain this positive change in behaviour.

Op, it’s not even been 4 weeks let alone a month. Yet you’ve had two bottles of wine. It still seems quite a bit in a short space of time.

No it's not!

Sole water, huh? You live and learn.

The posters that asked about milk thistle and might waking - I'll say it but realise people will think it sounds incredibly woo and mental.

In Chinese medicine, waking up between 1am and 3am means that the liver is working overtime. This could be alcohol, saturated fat, too much sugar - many reasons. Milk thistle (I only use Jarrow brand - 2 a day) stops this night waking. It stopped my disabled son waking every night at 2am like a miracle. I take it if I have had a drink. Obviously drinking plenty of water is more important.

Thanks Unicorn, I will report back.

How does your liver know what time it is?
