We have slumped way below 'comparative' democratic western countries.

AIBU to think what the fuck has happened to us?

12 plus years of Tory government. Have worked in senior, national health and care related roles for over 20 years. And trust me, it has never been so bad. Poor policies while searching for mystical unicorns means they have neglected the basics like workforce, infrastructure and training. It doesn't have to be like this. This is a political choice.

It's absolutely disgusting!!
Who are the economists who advised austerity ?!

Unfortunately I can’t read all of that article so I can’t give a proper opinion.
However I would take figures from China and Saudi Arabia with a huge pinch of salt; I would imagine lots of women in those countries are denied basic health care so don’t figure in any official statistics.
Its a bit like China saying they have only had 2000 Covid deaths.

Not surprised. Another poster and I mentioned going to obgyn in our native eu countries because it's essentially impossible here even if you have issues, let alone some preventative care (similarly to dentistry)...
Lots of women from my native country used to go give birth there rather than here, I believe they still do.
