It's such a minor ailment but is causing me a lot of hassle Blush

2 days ago I dropped a large Cath Kidston mug on the floor and stood on a tiny bit of it. When I looked it was easily taken out, didn't really even hurt! Got on with my day no issues

Today I've taken DS swimming and I can no longer be put weight on that foot. The pain is immense. It's so bloody sore

When I force myself to lay the foot flat on hard floor, it feels like there's a lump there

I've had another look and you can tell there's a small slash where the porcelain was but it's tiny and looks clear of any foreign objects

But I can't walk and I've shamelessly been crying because I'm a carer and I can't bloody care for my own child like this. It's horrendous! I just can't use that foot at all

What can I do? I've had a hot bath but it doesn't seem to have helped much

Sounds like a tiny shard may still be in there - try drawing it out by putting some germolene on, then covering with a plaster overnight if possible..

Magnesium sulphate paste is designed to "draw out".

Magnesium Sulphate worked for drawing out a splinter on my DD's finger. We got a tiny pot from chemist. That may be worth a try op

Thanks so much. I have some Savalon so will put that on tonight and then get some magnesium sulphate from Lloyd's tomorrow Grin hopefully they sell it!

Who knew such a tiny cut could cause such drama. I'm walking like I can't use my right foot

I managed to get some glass out of my DHs foot with a syringe, once it was at the surface I used a needle and tweezers to get it out.

desperadodogface · 21/01/2023 18:49

Magnesium sulphate. I did the same with a broken wine glass. At least you have a nice middle class story 😊

nibbledhiscable · 21/01/2023 19:01

@desperadodogface I included the detail of it being a Cath Kidston mug because I was wondering if someone wise would come along and inform me it isn't made of porcelain or something Grin and some cheap china fake
