John Yems claims he is ‘owed apology’ over abuse from discrimination case

How unreasonable is this guy being? He was found guilty of not 1 or 2 breaches but 12 aggravated breaches of Football Association rules in regards to discrimination. He called black players "zulu warriors." He was scared one Muslim player would blow up the stadium. He told a player if he was unhappy that they did not serve curry pizza.

This guy has the audacity to claim he is a victim. I feel sorry for the people he victimised the independent committee is also laughable:

"Yems was banned from working in football for 18 months by the independent regulatory commission after they considered 15 charges against the 62-year-old, with Yems accepting one further charge. Explaining the scale of the sanction, the committee said they had chosen to limit the punishment because they did not believe Yems was a “conscious” racist." How is this guy not a conscious racist that is baffling and only banned for 18 months is a joke.

YANBU, this is unbelievable. There is no way this is “unconscious racism”. It’s as blatant as it could possibly be! There needs to be an entire new category for him, I just don’t know if it’s “people who are too stupid to realise how racist they’re being” or “people
who think they can get away with calling it unconscious racism because they’re part of some ‘old boys club’”.

Him claiming to be the victim here is laughable. He still doesn’t get the impact of what he’s done - that alone should make his ban permanent.

The whole thing is awful. Those poor young men.
How anyone can say he's not an obvious racist is utterly beyond me.

Murdoch1949 · 20/01/2023 04:49

He's a racist. An old school dinosaur of a racist who claims it's just banter. No it's not. It's out & out racism. If he ever tries to work in football again, and he will, there needs to be a campaign targeting the club's sponsors to get any job offer rescinded. He must NEVER work in sport again.

Nothing worse than a racist twat playing the victim.
