To think that Lauren should have just supported Heidi in the hills?

Re-watching the hills from season 1. Just on season 2 now where the fallout with Lauren and Heidi and Spencer happen.

I'm in a similar situation with my friend wherein I can't stand her boyfriend however I keep my mouth shut as I know it'll do no good voicing my concerns. So I say nothing and just support her and know I'll be there when it inevitably ends.

AIBU to think that Lauren should have done the same thing? I almost think that if Lauren had of kept quiet and watched from the sidelines, Spencer would have messed the relationship up and Lauren and Heidi would still be friends. By Lauren making things so difficult it became impossible for Heidi to stay friends with her and gave Spencer what he wanted - to isolate Heidi from her friends.

I noticed a few instances throughout the season when Heidi wanted to leave Spencer and she didn't because she was so dependent on him that he was literally the only person she has in LA.

Look at the absolutely state of Speidy now, and then look at LC. I say she made the right decision distancing herself from that absolute mess. Plus in Laguna Beach, Heidi was supposed to come to Laguna to model
for LCs charity fashion show and she ended up being best buds with Kristen, LCs mortal enemy! Not a nice person imo.

It was all scripted and set up anyway but dm an it got me invested.

Did he not leak Lauren’s sex tape? Entirely on Heidi to choose to stick by him fully aware of that. Although I haven’t watched in years so may be misremembering!

He did after the fall out yeah. But the fall out was caused by the fact that Lauren couldn't stand Spencer and refused to be around him (fair enough) but also that Heidi couldn't speak about him whilst they were hanging out (not fair when someone is a big part of your life and you can't even mention their name).

Nah I was team LC. Heidi must have become very difficult to be around.

Let's say it was real - Spencer was a bad influence in Lauren's life so unfortunately she had to cut the friend out as well for her own sake and I think she did right thing

But yeah, it was all staged. Also good to listen to the podcast Back To The Beach with Kristen and Stephen and they go over episodes starting from Laguna Beach, soooo much learned

I don't think there was a sex tape - it never came to light and they both denied it. But Heidi admitted that her boyfriend made up the rumour about her best friend. That's an absolute deal breaker for me. LC did the right thing walking away

Out of the lot of them, I would say LC is probably the happiest with her life these days

I was definitely Team Lauren. And her feelings / thoughts about Spencer we completely valid. Spedi are we're/ are very toxic.

I don’t think it all was. There were some arguments on there where you could tell that the tears and fury were absolutely genuine. No one is that good an actor! It’s like most of these shows. Probably about 50% of the stuff they argue about is genuine but they stage manage the discussions/confrontations and hope that they’ll forget the cameras are on, and luckily they often do 😁

I think Lauren was way too over invested in her friends life's overall tbh.

But Speidi went bonkers at one stage so she made the right choice with that one.

What gets me though is the whole Jen Bunney saga. Jen and Brody were made up. Lauren and Brody were made up! So why did Lauren fall out with Jen?

Also I totally believe that Lauren did hook up with Justin Bobby. Rumours don't start from nothing.

I agree Lauren was over invested and should have just kept her mouth shut and kept the peace, but she was, what, 21? I think it's very normal to be a bit overdramatic at that age and not know when to pick your fights. She seems really happy now and I'm not sure that her and Heidi would have remained friends as they seem very different.

I don't want to believe she hooked up with Justin Bobby! He was the worst! Maybe the rumours were started by the TV crew to create drama...

@ShakeYourFeathers I watched the reboot, loved the first season just for the nostalgia factor even though it was mainly total dross content wise. 2nd season I thought was awful, drama was at an all time low.

Part of being a good friend is being honest and I think actually it's important to think of yourself too. Spencer is a hideous person, its not just that they didn't get on but he's horrible af, I actually respect her for protecting her wellbeing by not wanting to be around him or to hear about him. Heidi's choice ultimately to prioritise that loser over close friends.

Off topic a little, I just watched the first episode of back to the beach about Laguna Beach. Does anyone else think Kristen still likes Steven? They still have chemistry!

Iv been rewatching and feel like Lauren was that girl all her friends would bitch to about their boyfriends and not expect her to have an opinion. She actually liked Spencer until he was a douche to Heidi. Then it was made worse when he encouraged Jen and Brody to hook up. Problem is Heidi did it too but couldn't tell Lauren that so let her just blame it on Spencer.

Lauren was a great example on how to stick up for yourself. After the whole rumor situation she was right to distance herself but I can't blame her for being able to see what Spencer was trying to do to her and Heidi's friendship. Spencer is controlling. He wanted to make sure he was all Heidi had. Pushed her friends and family away. Sad really.

Whitney always seemed great .. she's a totally stoner now lol. She has reaction videos with her husband to the city and the hills on YouTube 🤣

Speidi was a shitshow. They still are. Lauren chose her own wellbeing. Good for her.

They actually fell out because someone was secretly recording the cast/selling out to the press. Jen told Lauren it was Lo, so they didn't talk for a couple of years. Lauren (and others) eventually suspected it was Jen.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention OP. Have been listening today and realised at the end of the first one that I hadn’t stopped smiling throughout. Such a blast from the past and I have always liked KC and followed her career.
