Would you tell nursery / school about someone else’s D&V?

NC for this just in case…

If you knew another child was sick last night and overnight with D&V, and the policy is they should stay away for 48 hours, but you go in this morning and they’re there, would you mention it to the staff?

YANBU - it’s none of your business, stay out of it.

YABU - staff should be aware in case it’s norovirus and it spreads.

I would say something. So unfair on other children

FrownedUpon · 19/01/2023 11:07

I’d definitely say something. It’s so selfish.

saltedpretzel2 · 19/01/2023 11:10

Yes I would definitely

So I did tell staff, but a friend of mine made out I was really unreasonable and what I did was terrible. But I don’t think a child with D&V just last night should have been there.

I wouldn't say anything, but it does piss me off that people do this. Not sure I'd be right not to say anything, but I know I wouldn't. Especially if it was a friend and they were self employed or at risk of losing their income. It's obviously shit to do, though.

I would say something.

I’d be a passive aggressive bitch and say something like “oh is little Johnny ok to come in when they were sick last night? Have the rules changed Miss, I think I might have missed the update they don’t have to stay off for 48 hours?” In audience of the parent and teacher/TA at the same time preferably. Play dumb. But I’m a cow so 🤷🏼‍♀️
