First world whinge alert - international transit travel security checks

We are travelling from London to Auckland via Singapore and Sydney, heading straight to transit without leaving the airport staying airside at all times. At both Singapore and Sydney we’ve had to go through security all over again. I think this is way OTT. AIBU?

Yes, this drives me mad as well. Where do you think you have been?

Yup had this recently in Helsinki (got off a flight to go straight through security to get on another flight). Husband’s hand luggage got stopped on the basis he had lots of snacks (for our child, didn’t know if he’d eat on the plane, as it was he vomited and ate nothing). Then the security person put it through again and of course it got stopped again for the same reason- well of course he took nothing out! I do understand why they check again but some understanding of customers would be good.

Wait until you come back. If it is school half term by then, the Borders Agency at Heathrow will probably not be adequately staffed. School holiday patterns have been the same almost since Heathrow first opened, but for the Borders Agency that is not enough notice to plan it seems.
