I've just seen another variation of the classic Mumsnet trope and wondered, as I always do, why anyone bothers posting it.
"Are you a journalist, OP?" "Watch out, they might be a journalist!" "Sounds like the sort of thing a journalist might want to know."
Who cares?
What does it matter?
Mumsnet is a public forum. Journalists can read and reproduce anything you write on here, whether or not they started the thread. And anyone else can read something your write here, whether or not a journalist copies and pastes from your post.
What's more, no-one on here may be who they seem to be, so everything you read and everything you post needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.
So am I being unreasonable to not give a toss whether a journalist, a butcher, a baker or a candlestick maker has started the thread?
