I know it’s not really an AIBU but I’m hoping people see this post. I posted recently, we lost our young cousin in a sudden road accident. He was a pedestrian and was killed by a car. I’ve taken a couple of days off from work and am due to return tomorrow. I need to prepare some material for work tomorrow and try to focus but I just can’t. I feel sick. The thoughts of getting in the car and driving to work has me feeling so shaken. I keep thinking of what happened and crying again. Any tips for focusing on work again when a sudden tragedy like this occurs?

Go to the GP and get signed off. It doesn't sound like you're in any way fit to go back to work.

You're all in shock, and I sense that because of the nature of what happened being in a car is currently too sharp a memory and will exacerbate your trauma.
