To ask DH to stop kissing me when I have food in my mouth?

I find it odd- AIBU?

For instance, when I’m cooking dinner and just nibbling on a bit of the raw veggies whilst I cook, or having a small snack in a break from work. DH will quite often come in for a kiss, to which I respond only with a brief peck on the lips. Would I be fussy to tell him to stop?

'Darling, please don't kiss me when I am eating' is all you need to say.

So INBU to find it odd? I just don’t know why he would do it in the first place. It’s part of a pattern of feeling invisible to him- he wants affection but doesn’t care enough to notice that it’s not a good time to ask that of me.

What odd behaviour- how can he even want to kiss you when you are eating ... ?

Does he want more than just a quick peck? If so, with food, that's a bit odd

Thistledew · 15/01/2023 06:14

I’m not sure he notices.

You can say no to physical contact at any time, whether you are eating or not.

How can he not notice ... and surely you would just move away if you don't want to be kissed ... or start eating pickled onions.

Are you frightened of offending him ? If my DH comes near me and wants to be 'affectionate' and I don't feel like responding I just say something like 'back off mate' ... and he would do the same to me ... no offence taken.
