AIBU to think reasonably priced size 13.5 football boots don't exist?

Posting for traffic. DS has size 13.5 or 14 feet if the shoes are a narrow fit. He has to have all black football boots for school. He hates football and rugby, and all the muddy sports so I don't want to spend a fortune.
Can anyone help me out? Where do you buy these from?

Have you tried Decathlon?

JasperHale · 13/01/2023 17:10

Or something called mandmdirect.com

Redblanky · 13/01/2023 17:11

My DCs feet weren't quite so big, so slightly less of a challenge, but I also had boys who "needed" football boots for school but rarely wore them. I always bought them second hand on ebay, loads of people in the same boat, buying boots that are never worn.

One pair got handed down to my nephew still brand new despite at least 2 previous owners. Worth a try?

mistlethrush · 13/01/2023 17:12

I sympathise - my son's in 15's - but rugby boots are so narrow that he really needs a size up as he has wide feet and a high arch and can't get his feet in otherwise... At least they don't have to limit them to just black though which must be even more difficult.

EBay- kids grow so quickly my sister got some very reasonable boots that were literally good as new

Good advice here
www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4695451-to-be-able-to-find-size-14-football-boots

Also my DH was a similar size teen and his mum went to the school and explained how expensive all his different shoes were so he was allowed to wear trainers instead of school shoes. So if you can’t find any black ones maybe ask for an exception? (Obv. depends on your kid whether he’d be into this or not!)

£24.99 in Sports direct

idontevenknowanyonecalledblurb · 13/01/2023 17:15

You'll be able to get sondico ones in sports direct they shouldn't be too expensive

WhyWhyWhyMum · 13/01/2023 17:17

Sorry won't let me link, if you search for Sondico black football boots on their website they have size 14

Stag82 · 13/01/2023 17:18

I get my kids boots on vinted / Facebook market place

Oblomov22 · 13/01/2023 17:19

Sports direct have loads. EBay for 2nd hand, often new'ish.

neverendinglauaundry · 13/01/2023 17:24

Thank you so much! I'm so not a sporty person that sports direct didn't even occur to me. Great user name by the way.
And thank you also to everyone else who gave a suggestion - Mumsnet is the best!
I've ordered the sondico ones and will pay it forward and put them in the school uniform exchange when he's not in need of them any more

This really annoys me. I am lucky that my work has a recycling board and I managed to get the last pair for nothing. I will relist when done - they could do decades of kids who hate football.
