Off the bat this isn't for a paper or anything as I know it sounds a bit weird but I'd say I'm probably top 5-10% of Internet usage or on my phone its got really bad to the stage it probably is an addiction I'll put a film on I want to watch but I'll check my phone multiple times through it even though the stuff I'm checking can wait until later and won't probably have changed. I'd say I'm probably attached a good 6-7hrs or more a day it's insane and I'm just on here, twitter, reddit, it's just constant updating. When I'm not actively doing something.

6-7hrs Amateur!

The thing that checks sometimes tells me my weekly average has been 14 or 15 hours per day.

Really, unless I’m in a car, or asleep, my phone is in my hand pretty much all day. And work and entertainment mostly mean staring at my laptop.

I’m not a digital native - half my life was pre-Internet, so I know there’s a different way of life. Most of the time I might care, but at the moment I’m ill at home, so resolutely Not Bothered.

Binfluencer · 13/01/2023 13:39

About 3 - 4 hours a day, awful. I should burn it

Mouldyfoodhelp · 13/01/2023 14:03

I was being kind to myself Blushmy phone currently says 10hrs and then if I add on time to my ipad it would probably reach 11-12, for the average. Last year I went like a week off of social media and my usage plummeted apart from 3-4 sites the Internet is wasted on me.

@Mouldyfoodhelp

Do you work?

BotherThat · 13/01/2023 15:40

Hours and hours and hours and hours. I’m home most days with a toddler and she’s cute but not that entertaining 😆

I’m interested that you think ‘work’ might preclude Internet use! About 90% of what I do professionally requires online interaction, either with documents or colleagues. And since I’m freelance that could be any time of the day or night.

MetaDaughter · 13/01/2023 16:29

Sorry, that was to @Binfluencer .

Merlott · 13/01/2023 16:37

I work and yet..

Slightly terrifying really

Mine is about 9 hours a day. At least a third of that is work.
It peaked at about 13.5 hours a day.

LizzieSiddal · 13/01/2023 17:04

Before Xmas, I was spending around 7 hours online and the day it hit 8 hours I decided I must do something.

I’ve put the word TIME, as my screensaver and wallpaper. It means everyone I pick up my phone, I’m reminded this phone is stealing time from me!
It’s really worked, I’m now spending around 3-4 hours a day and want to get it down to under 2 hours a day.

Tragically for some of us that boundary is somewhat blurred 😅🤓
