What is wrong with these people? Surely they are a delivery company, and that sort of means they are supposed to deliver? I cant move around fast, so I have to wait not only in, but downstairs, and not in a comfty low arm chair. No music, no telly, in case I dont hear the door- yesterday the delivery arrived when I was in the loo, so having waited basically standing up in the hall all day yesterday, I am now doing the same today. They cant even narrow it down to morning or afternoon, let alone to a sensible, manageable two hour window. No information about timing at all, I cant even get confirmation it is coming today.

I do feel sorry for your situation and understand it can be frustrating, however, it is not UPS fault you were on the toilet when they attempted to deliver to you, the drivers working for these are on such short timescales and can't hang around waiting for people to open their doors in their own time. Also, not accusing you of lying, but I've always received a delivery slot via a 2 hour window from UPS, so not sure why you don't?

Nimbostratus100 · 12/01/2023 12:48

The thing is, if I'd had any sort of time slot then I wouldn't have been in the toilet then, but as I said, they don't even specify morning or afternoon - I cant wait 14 hours between toilet visits!

if a company uses a delivery service i have issues with I email and ask them to user Royal Mail, no one has ever said no.

Nimbostratus100 · 12/01/2023 12:49

How did you get a time slot? I've tried everything to try and actually contact them, but nothing - I just have their attempted delivery note from yesterday, which says they will try again today, and if I go to parcel tracking online, nothing since attempted delivery yesterday

Just stick a note on your front door saying you are in but will take time getting to the door. All delivery drivers are on really tight schedules so they don't have time to hang around for ages on the off chance.

The part I don't understand is you not getting a delivery slot time though. Do you log onto UPS and put your parcel reference number in and attempt to track your parcel that way? Is it just that the number(s) you input show up as not existing?

Yes I will do that in future, check before I buy to make sure I dont get UPS again

I hate UPS. The only "delivery slot" I've ever had from them is something like "7am - 9pm"

Yes, I have put the number s in for tracking, nothing shows since attempted delivery yesterday. Ive asked for one-off immediate tracking SMS, but it just showed the same information.

Its not even showing as out for delivery, and yesterday there was 6 hours between showing as out for delivery and the attempted delivery

It is particularly upsetting as I am not well, and really want to go to sleep

That is exactly what I've got- a 14 hour time slot, when I cant sleep, go out, sit comfortably or listen to music or watch telly, or anything at all

The package has arrived - and the driver was nice. It isn't the individual driver I have an issue with, its the company itself,

You can’t always know which company businesses use.

You can set up an account with UPS. I have and I have sanctioned ‘signature release’. So parcels can be left outside our door. Not everyone wants to do this of course.
