Can you do this with your head?!

Lighthearted 🤗

can you do this?!

Feel your head, start at the top / the highest part of your skull and run your head along the back of your skull towards your neck. Do you have a big vertical groove down the back of your skull?

I have it and presumed everyone else had it too- but on speaking to my friends and mentioning it casually I realised that in fact, not everyone seems to have this!

It’s quite deep, not sure how deep but I can physically feel the skull curving round for my head and then it suddenly drops down into the groove/dip and it runs along the back of my head vertically! It’s probably 5 inches but it’s hard to measure and you can physically run your finger along it inside the dip

who else has a dented skull?! There must be more of us?!

I have a large dent on the top of my skull, slightly to the back apparently my mother has one and my grandmother had one too

As someone who has handled a lot of human bone, I can reassure you all that the variety of differences in skulls is huge, and you’re all within the realms of normal. It’s fascinating, though!

The MN Serial Killer? 😱

I have a groove down the middle of my forehead to the start of my nose.

If anyone is on public transport or just out in public, you'll spot anyone reading this thread as they feel all over their head!

Please tell me more about your bone handling experience as I am very intrigued

Not a serial killer, but a former archaeologist 😁

You'd be familiar with my skull then - I have an large occipital bun. When people feel it they go eeew.

I have a flat/slightly concave bit about 5cm diameter, high up at the back in the middle

Me too

Ineedtosleep79 · 12/01/2023 23:25

I do, I do! 😄🙋‍♀️

Something I've noticed before but not really thought much of.

OP, it's where they didn't sew you up properly after "they" inserted the microchip [nods knowingly]

Helen, is that you?

I can feel, but not see, my frontal suture from the occipital bone up as far as the hairline. And some of the coronal suture, more on the right than the left.

I do not, DH has often commented on my 'perfectly round head' - I realised what he meant when I noticed he had a raised ridge just off-centre from the middle of his crown and a few inches up and down (vertically). Like a small dinosaur.
