To be sick of being sick!? Anyone else??

So had the dreaded cold virus before Xmas that wasn’t covid but lingered forever, ears still not clear and constant headaches.

A few days around Xmas I actually felt normal(ish) again but this was probably adrenaline 😂

Fast forward to the first week back at work and school and both my DD’s and DH have had a horrendous sickness bug! All separate nights/days, I nursed them all through it so haven’t slept properly in over a week but feeling lucky thinking I may have just escaped it! Now lying on the sofa after having awful runs (sorry!) feeling so sick but not actually vomiting just constant waves of stomach cramps and achey body all over.

Is anyone else going through the same as there seems to be a lot around? Also, this may be a ridiculous question but can a sickness bug get weaker as it filters through each person? Or is that naive wishing on my part!? Just hoping I’m not actually sick as I have such a fear of it, literally makes me panic and become pathetic!

Anyway, just a moan post really and to share sympathy with others going through constant lingering viruses!

You have my sympathies. I'm slowly recovering from a stomach bug but it's taking forever. Hope you recover completely very soon.

Same here! I had Covid in October and it seems to have weakened me!
I've picked up everything my son has bought home, including the horrible cough virus.
Then vomiting bug
Then an infected tooth 🤪

Itsnotalternateuniverses · 05/01/2023 20:08

I feel you. I've had a chest infection for three weeks. I'm now starting to feel better but I'm just sick of being sick! I hope you recover soon.

I started with a stomach bug on boxing day and lasted until a few days ago although I still feel tired from it. I was actually vomiting, it was awful and I realised I can't remember the last time I was like that. The nausea was constant and my appetite went. Hopefully it will past quickly for you.

We are the same, our house has been poorly since mid Nov, seems to be no break in sickness!

87SPD · 05/01/2023 20:24

Ah sorry you are all in the same boat! It’s so horrible and I genuinely can’t remember being so ill so often pre-covid! Seems relentless!

@LutherRalph1 Oh heck an infected tooth on top of all that - how did you cope!? Hope it’s all sorted now.

Make sure you get some nursing from your DH in return!

Oh he is definitely returning the nursing duties!

I feel exactly the same op. I got sick in Poland in a weekend away with my daughter on the 29th November. I've been sick every day since. Seems to have been a sinus infection that turned into mild pneumonia's and then I got covid. Some days I've been "ok" but most I'm struggling and some I can barely even get out of bed. I'm five and a bit weeks in and it's AWFUL. On the plus side I've quit smoking as a result of it even though I was only a social smoker and my drinking has almost stopped as well. My vitamin intake is through the roof and I'm working really hard to improve my diet. I never ever want to be this sick/under the weather again. Saw the thing about Kraken covid today and I hope to god that's what I had as I really don't want any more germs.

For those of you that are poorly and struggling with it, I hope you all feel better soon .

Rldx2 · 05/01/2023 21:40

I'm glad it's not just my household that is constantly being struck down!
Since the end of November Between 4 of us we've had a weird flu like thing that lingers, ear infections that won't clear up and two lots of tonsillitis and now the youngest has been off today with a sore throat and a random vomiting episode in the night....They've only been back at school one day! I'm genuinely worried about work at the moment, I've had to stay off twice now to care for sick children over the past 6ish weeks! I do hope you're all feeling better very soon

MegaClutterSlut · 05/01/2023 22:01

We've had nearly the same. Before Xmas we had that dreaded cold thing, felt like covid but wasn't. Had a week of being better now me and dh are ill again with another illness, again not covid. We have a cough, snotty, aching, hot and cold, lethargic and feeling sick. Pissed off with it now
