I feel exhausted and weighed down / achy and frankly demotivated at work.

I go for a long walk every day and try and stretch etc but the rest of the time I feel tired and uncomfortable / like I have a rock in my stomach.l and want to rest.

wasn’t expecting to feel like this until much later on and feels like there is still so long to go!

YABU - not normal
YANBU - it’s normal

Well I had mine at 31 weeks so no idea, but I felt pretty shit at 31!

I'm 39 weeks pregnant with my 3rd and feeling almost completely normal, except walking is becoming a bit slow! Everyone is different, try not to worry but take it easy.

I felt totally normal really. I probably only felt ‘heavy’ and then got hip pain around 38/39.

YANBU.. Im 34 weeks today and been feeling exactly this for the last few days. Have u had ur bloods checked? Im anemic and have gestational diabetes so both of these are contributing towards how im feeling

At 30 weeks I cried and asked DH how the hell I would do it for another 10 weeks. That was a particularly bad day, but I had good days too. I would say it's completely normal but you have to remember every person and every pregnancy is very different. I was a lot more tired and sore on baby #2 but I also had a toddler to chase after. Be kind to yourself, listen to your body, rest when you need to (and when you can).

I am just coming up to 33 weeks and feel exactly like this. I’ve been feeling like this since 28 weeks. I have had it quite badly with my hips and have done since around 20 weeks. I really am hoping she pops out at 37/38 weeks. I’ve also not had the smoothest pregnancy in general and my anxiety is through the roof.

First baby I felt fine but a bit breathless and swollen at 33 weeks, he was born at 36 weeks when the high BP and protein finally joined the ridiculous swelling and I had pre eclampsia. Second baby felt absolutely physically great at that stage. Third baby I was sore, sick, depressed, exhausted at 33 weeks, and my body agreed and she was born at 34 weeks.

With both my pregnancies, 32 weeks or so was when I started to feel Seriously Pregnant. As in, unable to do some of the things I wanted to do for physical reasons (tiredness, hip pain) and yes, definitely demotivated at work. I went on mat leave at 35 weeks both times and I was completely ready for it by then. Late pregnancy is really tough even if you have an uncompleted pregnancy.

Go easy on yourself, nap as much as you need, start tying things up at work if you can. Sounds like by early spring you'll have a gorgeous newborn baby 😍

*uncomplicated pregnancy, that should say.

HippeePrincess · 05/01/2023 17:02

I’m on my third pregnancy, they’ve all been different. With my second it was like I wasn’t even pregnant. With this one since I hit 3rd tri I’ve been struggling. I work in a very demanding hospital ward based job though, I’m old, and have had a house move in third tri, plus my belly measures 4 weeks ahead so I guess that’s why. I’m 35-36 weeks now and I am so done and ready to have this baby!

Age will play a huge factor. If you’re in your 30s you will feel it a lot more than someone in their 20s.

ladycarlotta · 05/01/2023 17:05

The SPD and breathlessness was the worst thing for me - it really affected how far I could walk (I'm such a walker usually) and how active I could be in general. My general memory of third trimester was basically an exhausted trudge. I think also I wasn't really allowing myself to rest much as we were renovating a house and I had to get stuck in every evening and during mat leave. Go easy on yourself - growing another human is quite a task. It's not surprising you are feeling it.
