To ask any of you savvy savers to help me find a holiday?

I've been searching but just can't seem to find the right thing. Trying to go away on a real budget. First time we will be taking the kids abroad. I haven't been abroad for years so I don't know which companies are the best ones to go with/which to avoid etc.

We are basically looking for:
Family of 4, 2 adults 2 Dc
Need to fly on either 29th, 30th or 31st July and ideally want 7 nights.
Can fly from any midlands, north west or London airports.
Happy to go most places that will be hot. Only places I'm not keen on is Tunisia or Bulgaria.
Budget isn't very high though, ideally can't spend more than £2300.

Anybody bored and would like to help me find the perfect holiday?

Try search engine sites like booking.com. I'm not saying definitely book with them, but that starts the search going. You can then filter or search based on priorities e.g. beachfront, pool, hotel or self-catering, 2 rooms or 1 / inter-connecting etc

You can book through booking.com (or similar), or a travel agent (local / online) or the travel company (e.g. TUI). These will usually be ABTA-protected - check that out if its important, it's about protection if a holiday company goes bust. Or you can book everything individually - accommodation locally, and flights direct with airline.

Either way, get travel insurance in place as soon as you book.

Have a look at On the Beach, normally quite cheap on there

butmumineedit · 04/01/2023 16:50

Sorry forgot to mention those bits! Yes ideally we would like all inclusive because our budget for spending money won't be a lot when there. Kids are 5&6

Look at jet 2 flying from Birmingham.

Startuplife · 04/01/2023 16:57

I’ve just put your criteria into EasyJet holidays and there are lots of options like this one. Do the search then filter by All inclusive and then switch the budget to total price and sort low to high. This one is the cheapest option.

Are you ok with Turkey or would you prefer Europe?

Favouritefruits · 04/01/2023 17:09

5* all inclusive, Turkey with free airport lounge and free airport fast pass £2,356 for two adults and two children.

Edwardwilliamnancy · 04/01/2023 17:13

Try jet2 I always find them reasonably priced and you can put different airports/dates in to reduce price.

CampervanKween · 04/01/2023 17:15

Turkey Hotel looks nice but would be a long transfer. "The hotel is located 120km from Antalya Airport."

flymetothemoon12 · 04/01/2023 17:27

Thanks everyone these look great!!

Jet2 is worth a look. I've always had great service from them.

I had a great deal on a holiday to Croatia last year and have booked a holiday to Sicily in June. Excellent value

Hobbesmanc · 04/01/2023 17:29

You've been quite broad with the uk airport. But travel and parking plus that long drive home at the end can have a detrimental effect. Ideally where is your closest airport.

Wow. Was just about to say may not be possible AI and a decent Tripadvisor rating .... that looks pretty good to me and Corralejo is nice. We went last summer.

Go with EasyJet holidays they came up cheapest every time. Baggage and coach included in the price too.

lovelypidgeon · 04/01/2023 18:22

Some great suggestions here. I've just got a few tips for making a decision if you're on a tight budget:

  1. Consider what you're likely to need to spend outside the hotel as well as the cost of the hotel (even with AI). For example, day trips/souvenirs/the odd drink outside the hotel are far cheaper in Turkey than in Spain
  2. Read the content of tripadviser reviews as well as the ratings and consider what's really important to you- some people will mark a place down for things that wouldn't bother you (or might even be a positive)
  3. If you're going for AI do a bit of research on specifically what's included (tripadviser's helpful- some people post photos of the AI bar menu/entertainment programme etc). Some places offer freshly made food/icecreams etc almost all day, others have a much more basic offering outside mealtimes (often only for an hour or so each day), the drinks included can vary a lot as well. If the entertainment/activities on offer are important to you make sure you read reviews about that too. I know some people who've been to AI hotels expecting to be able to have a quiet drink in the evenings only to find out that there's guest kareoke until the AI bar closes almost every night
