To be worried about an itchy nipple?

It’s only been the last few days but one nipple has been extremely itchy and irritated. I also have weird browny/yellow spots on my nipple. I’m deducing it could just be eczema but I don’t have an ounce of dry skin anywhere usually, at any time of year - I have very smooth and sometimes oily skin. No new detergents or bras.
Should I be worried? Coupled with the fact that I’m already going to the doctor tomorrow due to what feels like chronic tiredness?

Definately speak to your GP about this.

It's probably nothing but I don't think you can ever be too careful with a boob. Do tell the GP tomorrow, you may as well seeing as you are going anyway. If the GP is male, try not to feel embarrassed if he wants to take a look, he'll have seen more breasts than you've had hot dinners. Hope it all goes well!

Oh shit, when I said 'nothing', I didn't mean to minimise your discomfort, I just meant nothing nasty!

UndertheCedartree · 04/01/2023 00:16

Are you breastfeeding? Could it be thrush?

squeak67 · 04/01/2023 00:24

Don’t worry @RobertaFirmino i didn’t take any offence! Thank you so much, and @GladysPew too - ill definitely bring it up tomorrow.
@UndertheCedartree not currently breastfeeding and have no children. I do have PCOS and my hormones are a bit all over the place but never had this before!

I had this and like you I have oily skin, never hd a patch of dry skin in my life! I have health anxiety and I actually cried in the doctors, I was convinced it was sinister.

however the gp told me it was dermatitis and sent me away with a cream. I left convinced that she was wrong and spent the next few months anxiously googling worst case scenarios….

that was 3/4 years ago and all has been okay!

definitely mention it to your dr but please don’t worry!
